How will day be remembered |
It was Father’s Day, so good reason to justify going fishing (if you needed one) Left home there was heavy fog and then when we hot route 80, the sun came out.
The staff at Dow’s Boat Rental was very helpful. Learned that New Jersey has a program that provides a discount on the annual fishing license through the buddy system. http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/fishbuddy.htm
Being a large lake, there was a decent amount of recreational boat traffic. So we focused on fishing the points and the coves. Got some bites, caught some bluegills and perch. Guy in a boat about 25 feet from us, caught a nice smallmouth bass. It is a lake that needs to be fished regularly to identity good locations. Given the variety of fish, I plan on returning again.
